The purpose of the Emerging infectious disease (EID) Toolkit is meant to provide an overview of the important components and considerations when preparing and responding to an EID emergency in a Tribal setting.
Disease Preparedness
ITCA TEC received funding from the National Indian Health Board (NIHB) originating from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to provide leadership, technical assistance, and training throughout the project period (closing March 1, 2018). As part of the project, ITCA TEC provided 4 Tribes funding to enhance the current vector control projects in the following areas:
- Partner and Stakeholder Engagement
- Risk communication
- Vector Control and Surveillance
- Zika Transmission Response
- Other Tribal priorities to enhance vector borne disease prevention capacity
