For those eligible, the costs will be covered by ITCA GHWIC. Tribes and Urban Indian Organizations who currently receive direct funding from the CDC Good Health and Wellness in Indian Country (GHWIC) grant are not eligible.

Commercial Tobacco Cessation

Basic Tobacco Intervention Skills Certification for Native Communities

  • Format: Live Online
  • Time needed: 8 hours total
  • Certification/Continuing Education from the University of Arizona HealthCare Partnership (HCP)

Diabetes Prevention

Virtual Lifestyle Coach Training

  • Format: Live Online
  • Time needed: 8 hours live online + 8 hours of independent learning
  • Requirements: 4 days total; 2 hours each day. Attendance in all 4 days (live online) required.
  • Certificate of Completion from the National Diabetes Prevention Program (NDPP)

Basics of Diabetes for Non-Clinicians, ADCES

  • Format: Online – work at your own pace. Access provided for 4 months.
  • Time needed: 2 hours and 30 minutes online training
  • Organization: Association of Diabetes Care and & Education Specialists (ADCES)

Prevention 101: Fundamentals of Prediabetes and Diabetes, ADCES

  • Format: Online – work at your own pace. Access provided for 6 months.
  • Time needed: 2 hours and 30 minutes online training
  • Organization: ADCES
