ICS Train-the-Trainer Course Prerequisites
Prerequisite Course List:
☐ IS-100.b, Introduction to the Incident Command System (ICS), ICS-100.
☐ IS-200.b, Single Resources and Initial Action Incidents, ICS-200.
☐ ICS-300, Intermediate Incident Command System (ICS).
☐ ICS-400, Advanced Incident Command System (ICS).
☐ IS-700.a, National Incident Management System (NIMS), an Introduction.
☐ IS-800.b, National Response Framework (NRF), an Introduction.
☐ Demonstrate a working knowledge of ICS through experience and/or training.
Letter of Experience and/or Training:
☐ Previously attended classes in adult education. Formal instructor training such as college courses, National Wildlife Coordinating Groups Facilitative Instructor M410 course, Emergency Management Institute’s Master Trainer Program, National Fire Academy’s Instructional Methodology class, or DHS Office of Grants and Training’s Instructor Training Certification course, or equivalent (Fire Instructor II/III, EMS PI, EMA Instructional/Presentation Skills, FEMA Master Trainer, ILEA instructor, etc.)
Letter of IC, Command, General Staff positions:
☐ Participants must have worked as IC, command or general staff positions on incidents that went longer than one operational period or involved a written action plan and involved multiagency coordination.
Additional information on the Tribal Training Officer ICS Train-the-Trainer Course to be posted in the near future. The Tribal Training Officer Prerequisites are based on the FEMA/NIMS Instructor Training Prerequisites, dated February 2008.
