Many American Indians live in communities that are, in many ways, culturally, economically, and physically isolated from the type of medical care that many of us take for granted. In this video, a Hualapai Indian, who lives in a rural area in Northwestern Arizona, shares her family’s experiences with cancer and cancer care. This story reflects some health disparities that many American Indians experience with cancer.
