Workforce Investment Act Program

Purpose

The Inter Tribal Council of Arizona, Inc. (ITCA) provides federal Workforce Investment Act (WIA) funding to a consortium of eight Arizona tribal governments that allows the consortium to deliver employment and training services to their tribal populations. 

The objectives of the program include:

  • Providing administrative support to the WIA tribal consortium by collecting and reporting their employment and training data and statistics as required by the Workforce Investment Act.
  • Coordinating among the Arizona’s twenty-one (21) tribal governments, the Arizona Department of Economic Security (DES), the Governor’s Council on Workforce Policy as well as the U.S. Department of Labor, in particular, the Division of Indian and Native American Programs.
  • Analyzing and disseminating information regarding employment and training issues, needs and areas of concern, including federal and state policies and legislation.
